For those playing along at home, you may have noticed that there wasn’t an update last Sunday.
For reasons, I’m going to be taking a break for a bit. Reasons being essentially life (it’s the school holidays, work is a bit intense at present, etc etc). For those who generally reach out to me whenever I take a break like this, yes, I am entirely fine.
In many ways, with life getting in the way, I have found that I just need to take a bit of a break from regularly scheduled posting so that I can get further ahead with Bodies Bodies. While I’m still writing the book largely in real time, there are some parts further down the line that I have turned my pen to that have turned out to be slightly knottier and consuming than I have originally assumed would be the case.
Plus, I must admit that I currently have a couple of ideas that are starting to burn a hole in my head that I need to get down on the page (even if it’s just a rough outline) for fear that if I don’t they will end up infecting Bodies Bodies.
So what does a break mean? Well, I’m not expecting it to be like the Gigapause was for Homestuck. If it ended up being a couple of months that wouldn’t shock me as that would likely give me enough time to get ahead and purge some of these ideas I’ve got.
I would also mention that if, as always, you would like me to review anything in particular (there is always Severance season 2 that probably needs some consideration and words at some point) then just reach out to me and I’ll see if I can get a post up about it.
Meanwhile, for those paid subscribers - obviously I remain exceedingly grateful to every one of you. However, for the time being, I would encourage you to go down to the free tier with your subscription. Obviously if you wish to remain a paid subscriber then by all means but I wouldn’t want you to do that if you are expecting me to be pushing content at you on a fixed schedule over the next few months. If you do remain paid then you should probably just consider it patronage of me as a writer rather than specifically as a subscription, at least until the pause is over.
As ever, hit me up. I’ll be here, just feverishly working away at the book in the background.
You deserve a bit of a break, mate. Take your time. A Severance season two review would be very, very welcome, however.
